LUCIOUS LAGER
German Pilsner 10 gallons O.G. 1.068 F. G. 1.017 22# German Pilsner malt 1# German light crystal malt 1# German munich malt 15 HBU Saaz hops (boil 45 minutes) 2 oz. Saaz hops (boil 15 minutes) 1 oz. Saaz hops (boil 5 minutes) 1/2 oz. Saaz hops (steep 2 minutes then add 1/4 oz. to each fermenter) 2 tsp. Irish Moss (boil 15 minutes) 2 Tbsp. Yeast Energizer 2 packages Wyeast 2308 Munich Lager Mash 90 minutes at 152F with 1.3 quart of water to each pound of grain. Sparge at 170F for 1 hour. Add first addition of hops after hot break and start 45 minute boil from there. Chill wort to 60F, add yeast and ferment at 45F for 2 weeks. Transfer to secondary glass carboys and ferment at 45F for 6 weeks. Age 1 month in kegs. |
